32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny
By: Phillip Done
Let me start my review by saying, “I knew after a few pages that I wanted to go back to the third grade and have Mr. Done as my teacher.”
If you have a child in the third grade, a child that will be in the third grade or have had a child in the third grade, you must read this book.
It covers a school year with Mr. Done and his third grade class. I laughed out loud and I cried while reading this book. Thank you Mr. Done for sharing your children with us. It is definitely a book I will always remember.
Things I learned while reading 32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny:
• You cannot send a snake to school as a class pet.
• Hot dogs can be substituted for turkey on Thanksgiving.
• Teachers hope that April Fools day is on the weekend.
• My husband is a "piler".
• I am a cross between a "hospital" and "model home".
• Mr. Done used to LOVE to laminate everything.
• Never challenge Mr. Done or his brothers to a pie eating contest.
The most important lesson I learned while reading the book was
“Kids DO TELL everything that happens at home in school”.
I had assumed this but didn’t have proof until now.
Being a teacher is like being a mom, we wear many different hats during the day. Plus, we have the “look” down perfectly.
Now I am off to email Mr. Done inviting him over for lasagna and a show. Who doesn’t love a dinner theater?
